Kudos Cards
Little cards for recognizing great performance.

How to perform a
Kudos Card™ Presentation.

  1. Present a Kudos Card™ as soon as possible after you realize a desirable behavior has occured.

  2. Prepare your remarks. Don’t ‘wing-it.’

  3. Use the Kudee’s name when presenting a Kudos Card™. If you're not certain how to pronounce the Kudee's name, find out...and practice saying it correctly.

  4. Look the Kudee in the eyes.

  5. Describe the specific behavior, action, or effort the Kudee took for which you are recognizing him/her with a Kudos Card™.

  6. Explain how important the Kudee’s behavior, action or effort is to you and to the organization.

  7. Hand the Kudos Card™ to the Kudee, shake his/her hand, smile! Be sure to use the words "I appreciate" and "thank you."

Suggestion: Don't limit giving Kudos Cards™ for only the biggest and best accomplishments. Recognizing minimal performance improvements and accomplishments helps people know you are paying attention to what they are doing and tells them that what they are doing is correct. This specific and positive reinforcement will help to encourage more identical successful actions. Try it!
